- CNETAfter an elderly relative began experiencing memory loss, we began researching products for people with dementia. We found many devices that seemed to ignore the rich and diverse lifestyles of their elderly customers, seeing them instead as a blob of oblivious patients.
Could we create a product in the elder care category that earned real fans and defined a new market?
Robin was our first-ever product, a Day Clock designed to celebrate the ongoing independence of our memory-impaired audience. You won’t find any talk of aging, memory-loss or dementia on the Robin product or packaging. From casing to font size, every element of the experience delivers a message of lightness and brightness that is a complete refresh for the elder-care category.
And the approach found its mark.

Rather than stopping with the obvious benefits of a better-designed steam mop, we focused on building a product that wipes away the strain of cleaning altogether. Gladwell’s flagship mop debuted as a product that’s as enjoyable for homemakers as it’s powerful for homes.
The eager market response continues to validate that approach as we’ve added multiple versions of the steam mop and our Gecko Robot window cleaner to the lineup.
